We have been making soap and skincare since 2012.

It all began when our girls were little. Our twins had cradle cap and after trying all the things the family doctor said to try and nothing working, I tried a bar of homemade soap. Well, the cradle cap cleared up in record time and that’s when my wheels started to turn. I thought I would just learn to make one batch of soap for our use since it worked so well. I read some books, bought some oils, hubby made some small soap molds, and my soap adventure story began. We worked out of our kitchen but quickly outgrew that and moved to our unfinished basement. But we wanted to finish the basement so that meant finding another work space. There was storage over top of our garage so we set that up as our production area and to date, we have also outgrown that. However, that’s all there is so we make do! At first we did a few craft shows but a dream had been planted to have a home based business that would allow me to stay at home with our girls and homeschool at the same time. We purchased a shed from a neighbor, transformed the inside and opened The Soap Shed in October 2012. My hubby is also a skilled craftsman with tons of ideas so we filled that little shed in no time with all kinds of homemade things. About 5 years later we had a friend build onto our existing shed and doubled our shop space. In the meantime, we experimented with different skincare products and have offered them out to the public. Some were keepers, others only lasted for a season. But our soap has definately been a game changer for so many of our customers. We’ve heard stories of how our soap has helped many of you that suffer from skin conditions. And that is such a blessing for them and for us. This is why we do what we do. Thank you all for following us as we continue our journey. God bless each of you as you go through this life. Enjoy each day and use good soap!
